Overview

Martis Roam is a disciplined fighter who excels at initiating teamfights, disrupting enemy formations, and controlling the pace of battle. His crowd control, damage reduction, and crowd control immunity allow him to frontline confidently while creating opportunities for his teammates. With proper rotations and objective-focused gameplay, Martis can lead his team through strong macro decisions and decisive engagements.

Strengths

1. Strong early-game pressure and fast rotations. 2. Excellent crowd control and enemy displacement. 3. Skill 2 provides crowd control immunity and damage reduction. 4. Powerful execute Ultimate that can reset after successful kills. 5. Effective at controlling objectives and creating space for teammates. 6. Flexible tank build that adapts well to different enemy drafts.

Weaknesses

1. Relies on proper timing when using Skill 2. 2. Can struggle against heroes with high mobility. 3. Less effective if teammates cannot follow up after initiation. 4. Requires good positioning to maximize crowd control. 5. Lower sustained damage when built as a tank roamer. 6. Ultimate resets depend on securing executions at the right moment.

Frontline Control

This build focuses on making Martis a durable frontline who can initiate fights, control the battlefield, and protect teammates. Prioritize defensive items based on the enemy's draft while maintaining strong map presence and objective control. Guardian Helmet provides excellent HP regeneration for continuous rotations, while Dominance Ice, Radiant Armor, and Antique Cuirass allow Martis to counter different threats. Boots are an important part of this build throughout most of the match because Martis relies on mobility to rotate and control the map. In the late game, when every teamfight becomes crucial, replace Boots with Immortality for an extra chance to survive. If Immortality is on cooldown after activation, consider Queen's Wings or Blade Armor depending on the enemy team's damage.

Tips for Equipment

Warrior Boots (Encourage) - Choose against teams with three or more Physical Damage heroes and low crowd control. Tough Boots (Encourage) - Choose against heavy crowd control or multiple Magic Damage heroes. Chastise Pauldron - Buy as the third or fourth item when you need additional durability and stronger frontline presence. Blade Armor - Optional. Effective against Marksmen who rely heavily on Basic Attacks, especially Trinity Build users. Immortality - Replace Boots in the late game. If it is on cooldown after being triggered, sell it and purchase Queen's Wings or Blade Armor based on the match situation.

Roam Tank

I choose the Tank Emblem to improve Leomord's durability and sustain as a frontline roamer. Firmness strengthens his early-game defenses, Tenacity grants 5% Damage Reduction when HP falls below 50%, helping him survive longer during teamfights, and Brave Smite restores HP after crowd control, increasing his sustain in extended fights. This emblem set allows Leomord to initiate confidently, protect teammates, and maintain strong frontline presence throughout the match.

Battle Spell

Revitalize is my preferred Battle Spell for Martis Roam because it increases my survivability during teamfights and objective contests. Combined with Martis's damage reduction from Skill 2, it allows me to frontline longer, create space for my teammates, and pressure enemies around Turtle, Lord, and towers. Cast Revitalize before or during an engagement to maximize its healing value and help your team win extended fights.

Early Game (Lv. 1-3)

Martis is one of the strongest early-game roamers. Help your Jungler secure the first buff, then rotate through Mid Lane and side lanes to pressure enemies. Skill 2 clears waves quickly when needed and allows you to return to roaming immediately. Focus on controlling vision, protecting teammates from early invades, and preparing for the first Turtle instead of chasing unnecessary kills.

Mid Game (Tempo Control)

This is Martis Roam's strongest phase. Initiate fights with Skill 1 and Skill 2 to disrupt enemy positioning while using Skill 2's damage reduction and crowd control immunity to frontline safely. Create space for your teammates, secure objectives, and use your Ultimate to execute low HP enemies. Good rotations and objective control are more valuable than chasing kills.

Late Game (Teamfight Execution)

In the late game, every decision matters. Stay with your team and protect your damage dealers by controlling enemy positioning. Build defensive items according to the enemy's strongest threats and avoid engaging alone. Replace Boots with Immortality only when the match reaches a critical stage. Use your Ultimate patiently to secure executions and turn teamfights in your team's favor instead of using it too early. In the late game, stay with your team and avoid unnecessary solo plays. Your main job is to initiate fights, create space, and protect your damage dealers. Build defensive items based on the enemy's strongest threats and save your Ultimate to finish low HP enemies at the right moment. Replace Boots with Immortality only when every teamfight can decide the match.

Best With Cecilion

100% co-op win rate

Martis creates space by disrupting enemy positioning and initiating fights, allowing Cecilion to safely deal continuous damage from the backline. Together, they excel in extended teamfights and objective control.

Watch Out For Valir

40% counter win rate

Valir can continuously push Martis away and slow his movement, making it difficult to stay on top of priority targets. Although Skill 2 provides crowd control immunity, Martis still needs careful timing to avoid losing momentum during teamfights.
